More To Rage Than Giving Cowell A Good Kicking

So, for the first time since Band Aid in 2004, we have a Christmas number 1 that hasn’t been produced from Simon Cowell’s reality TV conveyer belt. Rage Against the Machine sold over half a million downloads of their early nineties hit, if you can call getting to number 25 such a thing, ‘Killing in the Name’. This saw them take the top spot by 50,000 more sales than X-factor winner Joe.

Those in the media that know about such things are calling this one of the biggest shocks in chart… Continue

Diary of an Exercise Phobic

So here's me: self-proclaimed creative-type, administrator, fledgeling project manager for socially inclusive arts workshops and perpetual student. Oh, and exercise-phobic. I've typed this into Google to try and find a trendy sounding name, but so far as I can tell there isn't a catchy phrase to label people who are anxious about exercise. Not that I recommend online diagnosis, that way hypochondria (!) lies, but if you fancy a giggle I do recommend checking out… Continue

Quick Update re The Big Give

So day 1 of The Big Give Christmas Challenge is done.

Just a bit of clarification if you want to donate, or sign up for the London to Cambridge walk. Each day this week the Big Give opens at 10 AM UK time. Symon Vegro On BBC Radio Nottingham

Our patron Symon Vegro was today, Thursday December 3, interviewed on BBC Radio Nottingham to promote his book ‘All That You Touch’.

Symon spent his university days in the city and spoke to John Holmes on the station’s afternoon show.

Being a local station to Nottingham there was much reminiscing about Symon’s time in the city, as well as his motivation for writing the book and, among the periods in his life mentioned was his time living in a South Yorkshire pit village… Continue
