The Project has been written by Chris Streeks. Chris Streeks is an individual whom used his misfortune to better the lives of others. Chris is a well trained and experienced actor. However he is also a writer, mentor, workshop leader and motivational speaker. His first book ‘Letters to AYoung Person’ shows Chris’s inspirational journey and helps young people understand their own fears. Chris works as a Drama Practitioner for Escape Artists charity who promotes social change through the arts. Chris has known Matthew Taylor the Director of Escape Artists since April 2000 and has delivered workshops on and off for them since 2002. Chris’s workshops focus on the emotional and social aspects of learning. Chris has also appeared as a media spokesperson on many television programmes, including; BBC News 24, Sky News and ITV This Morning with Philip and Fern. Chris is the current media spokesperson for The Prison Reform Trust and means he does at least ten media appearances per year. Chris created a film called Porky Meets Junior. This film was originally conceived by Chris Streeks and after speaking to his students and Moving On Pupil Referral Unit about the dangers and realities of drugs he, along with Mike Woolfe, adapted it for the screen. In this gritty modern-day tragedy we examine the impact crack has on the individual and the ripple effect it also has on the family and the wider community.
It is a 6 week intensive programme aimed at the socially disengaged and was written by Chris Streeks. Having spent a number of years in therapy, this course is the best that I learned and more importantly this programme is a sure way of teaching our young people social responsibility, enhanced emotional intelligence and consequence of actions. The programme looks at crimemogenic needs and risk taking behaviour, as well as giving young people skills to recognize and solve problems. It covers crime, peer pressure and risk taking behaviour and lots more. It also aims to improve the participants awareness of the causes of crime and gives them skills on how to deal with peer pressure and problems, but with a positive outcome. As featured on this morning in 2008 with Phillip and Fern and piloted at George Green School, Isle of Dogs.
It is an accredited course. Its unit title is an Introduction to Understanding Young People, Law and Order. It is level E3 and its credit value is 3. The learner will: understand why young people become involved in crime, demonstrate awareness of the consequences of crime on different people, demonstrate knowledge of the Criminal/Youth Justice System, demonstrate awareness of custodial and alternative forms of sentences and show awareness of the role of local agencies.
A 4 day practice-based course examining successful drama workshop skills that can be applied to the criminal justice system.
The main points addressed in the course are:
• How has drama been used in the CJS in the UK historically?
•What do you need…
Hi Rebecca, welcome to the Social Arts Network and thanks for joining! Our primary goal with the network is to help artists around the world meet to inspire each other and encourage everyone to keep creating their good works. Thanks to great people like you, we have been growing into an extensive global network of active arts practitioners.
As you may already know, the network is managed by Escape Artists’ and is open to everyone. Invite any friends you may have in the arts, or anyone that you may know who would have an active participatory interest in joining the Social Arts Network. Use the "Advanced Search" option when searching the network for other members in your field and/or area. We hope that you will connect with many of the members within the worldwide arts community here.
The Social Arts Network uses, and is built on, a platform similar to other well-known social networks such as MySpace, Facebook and YouTube. Any issues you may have using the networks many features, you can simply click the "Report an Issue" button at the bottom left corner of the screen and send you concern.

Think of SANe as a meta- network, an adhocracy, for people, organisations and other networks that are working in the field of arts and social action. The only requirement for joining SANe is that you have an interest in the arts as a means for raising awareness: a way of groping towards a social mind.
SANe is supported by the Syd Barrett Fund which, amongst other things, is working towards the creation of the Syd Barrett Social Arts Centre in Cambridge, UK. More...

SANe, the Social Arts Network, exists to facilitate communication between people who are interested in the development of socially inclusive arts practice, services, exhibitions and productions. The network is managed by
Escape Artists but it is open to everyone. Please feel free to upload your photos, videos, music and research papers, or to start your own forum or group.
It's a good idea to put your photos into an album as soon as you upload them; it makes them easier to find and gives them a context. And we'd be grateful if everyone could add either a picture of themselves or a company logo to their profile. SANe Books
Visit the SANe bookstore for a great range of books on socially inclusive arts. A percentage of any book sale made through SANe is donated to Escape Artists (UK registered charity no. 1086004) and helps to pay for the costs of managing this network.
Recommend books that you think other SANe members might be interested in.
