Hi Nicole, thanks for joining and welcome to the Social Arts Network. I would love to see you share more of the work that you do for viewing in the network. I also hope that you connect with many members here. Our primary goal is to help artists around the world to inspire each other and encourage everyone to keep creating their good works.

As you may already know, the network is managed by Escape Artists’ and is open to everyone. The next step is for you to simply invite any friends you may have in the arts, and any others that you may know who would have a participatory interest to join the Social Arts Network. Make sure to use the "Advanced Search" option when searching the network for other members in your field.

The Social Arts Network uses, and is built on, a platform similar to other well-known social networks such as MySpace, Facebook and YouTube. The network supports both still images and video and has been designed to easily scale and allow us to grow into an extensive global network of active artists.

Please feel free to share in here samples of your works by uploading your events, photos, videos, music, training materials and research papers; and/or also start your own forum or group. If you have any questions about how to upload or edit anything, please just send me a message and ask.

Many thanks,
James Mickelson

About this Website
Shangwe's website www.shangwe.com was created and launched in 2005 with the main purpose of contributing to the development of new Black British literature by promoting writing by and for UK Black and Mixed-Race women. In this context, Shangwe aims to inform, inspire and empower these women writers, build their confidence and encourage their participation in the arts, and ensure that UK Black and Mixed-Race women's writing makes a historical literary contribution to Black British writing.

About this Website:
This blog was established in October 2008 as part of Black History Month, where I advertised for, collected and edited Black women's Africentric natural hair stories, which are posted on the blog. The aim was to provide an interactive dialogue of visual and written expressions to share our journeys to natural hair styles.

What is SANe?

Think of SANe as a meta- network, an adhocracy, for people, organisations and other networks that are working in the field of arts and social action. The only requirement for joining SANe is that you have an interest in the arts as a means for raising awareness: a way of groping towards a collective super-ego or social mind.

SANe is supported by the Syd Barrett Fund which, amongst other things, is working towards the creation of the Syd Barrett Social Arts Centre in Cambridge, UK. More...

Our next fundraising event will be a walk from London to Cambridge. Want to come along? Find out more...

SANe, the Social Arts Network, exists to facilitate communication between people who are interested in the development of socially inclusive arts practice, services, exhibitions and productions. The network is managed by

Escape Artists but it is open to everyone. Please feel free to upload your photos, videos, music and research papers, or to start your own forum or group.

Games for Actors and Non-Actors by Augusto Boal

It's a good idea to put your photos into an album as soon as you upload them; it makes them easier to find and gives them a context. And we'd be grateful if everyone could add either a picture of themselves or a company logo to their profile. SANe Books

Visit the SANe bookstore for a great range of books on socially inclusive arts. A percentage of any book sale made through SANe is donated to Escape Artists (UK registered charity no. 1086004) and helps to pay for the costs of managing this network.

Recommend books that you think other SANe members might be interested in.
