I was an advisor to ATEC for initial UK performing arts NVQ framework (in the early 1990’s!), and have served on various national and international Circus committees supporting development of professional circus arts and also youth circus. I taught at Fooltime and Circomedia before setting up Circus Maniacs School of Circus Arts in 1995, and also running an international award-winning Youth Circus Company.

Aside from my circus activities, I trained as a dancer, and also later as a Gymnastics coach (qualifying in General, Pre-school, and Special Needs). I’ve developed Circus programmes for Early Years (we opened the first government sponsored ‘Sure Start’ Centre in Peterborough), through to workshops in various Day Centres for adults with special needs. I’ve also various qualifications re teaching in Adult Education, and Playwork environments.
This winter, I have been coordinating a slightly unusual Training Project with our ‘Youth in Action’ EVS Volunteers.
